Izwe Youth Foundation team and beneficiaries

Our Story

The Genesis of Izwe Youth Foundation

The Izwe Youth Foundation was born from the vision of Sandile Dladla, who believed deeply in creating pathways for others to succeed. Driven by a desire to see young people win, he sought to build a sustainable solution to South Africa's unemployment crisis.

Sandile Dladla brought this powerful vision to his business partners Vela Mchunu and Vuyani Mkhize at Naadi Contractors. After discussing and refining the vision together, they presented it to fellow entrepreneurs and companies who shared their passion for change. The idea resonated with organizations like Newton Inc. and 411 SHEQ Consulting, who recognized the urgent need for practical solutions.

The collective realization was clear: to truly tackle unemployment at scale, we needed to move beyond traditional job creation. The most powerful approach would be to empower young people to become entrepreneurs – believing that for every sustainable business we help launch, we create not just one job, but the foundation for ten more.

Frequently Asked Questions

Common questions about our application process, funding, and support timeline

The waiting period can vary depending on several factors. Generally, it's a thorough process as we need to carefully review all applications. The timeline is also determined by the availability of funds at any given time. We process applications in the order they are received and provide updates via email.

We review all applications thoroughly, one by one. Each application receives individual attention to ensure fairness and proper evaluation. Our team assesses each submission based on merit, feasibility, and alignment with our foundation's objectives.

Apply only once. Multiple applications for the same project or individual will not speed up the process. In fact, duplicate applications may actually prolong the review process as our team needs to identify and consolidate them. Submit your best application and wait for our response.

Please avoid calling, visiting, or sending multiple follow-up emails. While we understand the anxiety of waiting, frequent follow-ups actually slow down our process. Our small team needs to focus on reviewing applications and securing sponsors. We promise to contact you via email once there's an update on your application. Keeping communication channels clear allows us to work more efficiently.

The support we offer is primarily determined by the availability of funds from our sponsors and partners. We also consider factors like:
  • The viability and potential impact of your business idea
  • Alignment with our foundation's mission and focus areas
  • Completeness and quality of your application
  • Current funding cycles and sponsor commitments

The most effective ways to support us are:
  • Become a Sponsor/Donor - Financial contributions help us support more youth entrepreneurs
  • Share our Mission - Help spread awareness about our work
  • Offer Professional Services - Apply as a service provider if you have relevant skills
  • Be Patient - Allow us to focus on processing applications efficiently
Important Note

We're a small team working hard to make a big impact. Your patience and understanding allow us to focus on what matters most: reviewing applications thoroughly and securing support for deserving youth entrepreneurs.
